Brian Bickel, Manager - Digital Solutions & Architecture
KPMG
Brian was built in Pullman, his beloved “land of wheat and opportunity”, and attributes his professional growth as well as his interest in the future of artificial intelligence to the enriching academic and personal experiences at Washington State University (WSU). His journey from WSU to the cutting edge of artificial intelligence (AI), while working in the Digital Solutions and Architecture team at KPMG, showcases a deep passion for leveraging technology to solve real-world problems. In WSU’s Harold Frank Engineering Entrepreneurship program he was able to try his hand at innovating with AI by building Sense Service LLC, a then-novel retail analytics solution, integrating AI to enhance customer data analysis at point-of-sale. This project catalyzed an interest in emerging technology with business needs and also sparked his interest in broader AI applications.
Now with KPMG Brian stayed busy in AI! He recently organized the Health Equity and AI Taskforce Summit in Lake Nona, wherein he gathered experts from across the country to ideate ways to tackle emergent health disparities related to precision medicine through guiding development of AI. Additionally, Brian has roles incubating a recent Stealth exit, Rhino.ai’s, flagship generative AI code migration product. He also has recently worked on AI and analytics anomaly and threat detection solutions for a Fortune 50 telecom client, and is actively leading development of a proprietary machine learning and generative AI solution for a nonprofit. Continuously expanding his AI knowledge through certifications from MIT and UC Irvine, Brian remains at the forefront of AI development and application and is focused on a practical exploration of how the convergence of AI with other disruptive technologies can rapidly reposition businesses.
